As the seasons meets draw to a close its time to remind you of future events/activities which you might wish to support during the next few months and to update you on what’s happened in the last month.

Sheila’s quiz was won by Peter Davies drawn during the Kennels meet on 12th March 2011.

Margery’s competition of ‘who caught the fox’ which was drawn on the 15th March was won by Diane Todhunter who won a bottle of whisky and Darren Elliott won a bottle of wine.

The end of season dance on the 12th March was well attended and a great success.

Our thanks to all those who supported these activities and to those who put the time and effort into creating them.

We are gradually firming up dates for future events:

Duck race – Unfortunately due to the protection of nesting birds on Dalemain Estates we have had to change the date to Sunday 31st July 2011 at 2-00pm on the river Caldew up the valley from Mosedale. Ducks are £1-00 each in advance or on the day. Bring your own picnic.

Flower  Demonstration – 21st  June 2011 at 7-30pm in Threlkeld Sports Pavilion - tickets at £6-00 in addition  there will be a raffle with the flower arrangements as prizes.

Lunch – provisionally planned for Sunday 16th October 2011 to be confirmed (Mungrisdale week)

Race Night – provisionally planned for Friday 14th October 2011 to be confirmed (opening hunt week)                                          

200 club – We currently have over 200 members and would like to increase this up to 400. The membership is £12 per year which gives 12 monthly prizes and starts each year from December which has a first prize of £100. Please contact Stan or Margery Mattinson or myself during Sept/Oct this year to join.

Our next Supporters Group meeting will be on 13th April 2011 7-30pm at Threlkeld Sports Pavilion all welcome to attend

Legacies

Many people decide that once their family and friends are provided for they may wish to support an activity which they enjoyed.

Blencathra Foxhounds has many friends and supporters far and wide who have provided a legacy in some form to support our future well being.

There are various ways to support the Blencathra Foxhounds using a legacy.

 1   Pecuniary Legacy

          A gift of a fixed amount of money

 2   Residuary Legacy

         The gift of the residue or part of the residue of an estate

 3   Specific Legacy

         A gift of a particular item

 4   Conditional Legacy

                   A gift to cover the eventuality that you outlive your       named dependant
